Designed to be the most flexible discussion system available, the Bosch DCN Wireless Discussion system offers the perfect solution for challenging locations such as multi-user venues and historical buildings. For multi-user venues the wireless system allows owners to service delegates better, easily and more effectively. With minimal time required to set-up or breakdown, multiple events can take place in sequence, meaning better and more effective use of space.
With superb sound and speech quality of up to 20 kHz, the DCN Wireless Discussion System allows participants to speak and listen with ease. Bosch has gone to great lengths to design a system that is easy to use and adaptable to varying situations and requirements. A basic discussion unit allows delegates to talk and listen, while a dual discussion unit is a cost-effective solution which serves two delegates at a time. Chairman’s functionality can easily be added to a unit to allow a chairman to overrule other delegates with the touch of a button. Featuring an award winning Wireless Access Point (WAP), this discussion system can be installed, rearranged and operated with virtually no impact on the integrity of the location. This is especially important in historical locations. The entire system has been designed to be beautiful and unobtrusive so that all participants can focus on the event at hand.
Removable Bosch Battery Packs are useful during multi-day sessions where batteries have to be recharged quickly and efficiently. Each compact charging unit can charge up to 5 Lithium-ion batteries at once. The specially developed Congress Control Software is highly user- friendly. Although a simple set up requires no operator, the control software provides an operator with extensive functionality: the status of each unit can be monitored and the identity of its user and many other key properties displayed.
The DCN Wireless Discussion system has been intelligently designed to be as user-friendly as possible, whether the user is a system operator, chairman or participant. The system is built with high finishing materials, giving it a timeless and discreet look. The system is protected against interference from mobile phones and other equipment making use of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or microwave signals. The battery functionality of the system includes a sleep mode to conserve energy and utilises rechargeable batteries with high capacity to ensure no interruptions due to low battery power. The award-wining Wireless-Access Point provides a consistently strong connection for a range of approximately 30 meters.
These characteristics of the DCN Wireless Discussion system are what warrants its Design Excellence award granted by the iF jury in 2006.
It goes without saying that the quality of the signal is superb. Additionally, all signals within the DCN Wireless System are digitally protected against tapping or eavesdropping.
The intelligent system even features automatic subscription blocking. Further subscriptions are prevented, even if the operator forgets to close the subscription process.
For interactive situations where polling and voting are important, discussion units with voting functionality can be used in the DCN Wireless Discussion System. The operator can start, stop and suspend voting via the Bosch Congress Control Software on a personal computer or via a touch screen.
Voting results can be synoptically displayed on various kinds of screens and logged if desired. The Bosch Congress Control Software also allows for anonymous voting, displaying the total result.
The congress control software allows an operator a great degree of control over the system. Delegate names can be easily assigned to all wireless discussion units before a meeting. The operator has control over the microphones during the meeting; he can start or stop voting sessions and display and log the voting results.
During the conference an operator can also monitor the battery status of every individual wireless discussion unit, and check whether or not all the units are receiving the signal properly.
The software is optimised for touch screens and features a multi-lingual graphical user interface (GUI).
The system can automatically show an image of the current speaker on monitors or projection screens in the main hall, lobby, interpreters’ booths, breakout rooms or anywhere else required. Delegate information appears along with the image. For a general overview of all delegates the system can switch to fixed-angle cameras.
Camera control and configuration is automatic, so the system can be run without an operator. Bosch AutoDome® cameras are ideal for this application and especially useful when video conferencing between sites. Camera control ensures that participants always have appropriate details on the current speaker.
